Here are the questions we are thinking about as we enter the month of September.

What will be the priorities for Russia’s new legislative deputies?
The next elections for the State Duma, one of the two chambers of the Russian parliament, will be held in September. These are the first party elections since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war. Since all parties participating in the elections support the war, economic issues are likely to take center stage. If the advocates of protectionism and higher government regulation gain power, new challenges could arise for domestic and international businesses.

Will the U.S.-Venezuela oil deal succeed?
